The Assistant Director is responsible for direction of patient care in the Emergency Department. The Assistant Director ensures continuity of care of the patient on the unit by providing direct care as well as supervising care given by staff members. The Assistant Director assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of patients on the department. The Assistant Director consults with staff, physicians, and administration on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. The Assistant Director is responsible for the care of patients from infant to geriatric taking into account patient acuity levels, ages, disabilities, and stages of development in the performance of his/her responsibilities. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Critical Care.
Graduate of an accredited School for Registered Nurses BSN and 3 years minimum ED experience preferred.
