The Clinical Supervisor is accountable for the management of clinical nursing practice in the OB unit. This management includes coordination of day to day work flow in OB to meet patient needs. This role is to focus on nursing process, physician communication, patient flow, employee competence, employee satisfaction, resource utilization and patient/family/physician and staff satisfaction. Along with the Director Inpatient Nursing, Clinical Supervisor, and Clinical Supervisor of Med-Surg, the Clinical Supervisor of OB will function as a member of the Acute Care Leadership Team.

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for completing the required state and perinatal reports that are required.  The Clinical Supervisor ensures continuity of care of the patient on the unit by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by staff members.  The Clinical Supervisor consults with staff, physicians and administration on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. This position reports to the Director of Surgery.

Must be a Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.BSN degree preferred. Currently licensed as a professional nurse in Illinois. Two to Five years of OB experience, including experience in patient care management. NRP Certification required, BLS certification through AHA required.
