Director of Patient Access

The Director of Patient Access directs and coordinates all daily functions for pre-service, registration, and the switchboard within all Graham Hospital service areas. In addition, the incumbent plans and directs a fully integrated registration credit and collection process that includes a staff of professional and clerical positions at multiple locations. The department acts as the system’s primary contact for patient estimates and out of pocket expenses. All communications are conducted in a manner that will result in positive patient relations and prompt reimbursement for the organization.
The incumbent assists with the development of policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the highest quality services are provided consistently to all customers. Oversight of staff to ensure hospital payment requirements and alternative financing are communicated and acted on. All communications are conducted in a manner that will result in positive patient relations and prompt payment for the organization. The director of Patient Access reports directly to the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle.
Bachelor’s degree in a business or healthcare related field – Master’s preferred. Five (5) years applicable experience with progressively more responsible supervisory or management experience. Five (5) years experience working directly with payors. Strong background and knowledge in healthcare revenue cycle operations/principles preferred.
