The Director of Surgical Services plans, coordinates and directs clinical and financial activities of the department (OR & Holding/PACU, Anesthesia, and Central Sterilization). The director ensures that Surgical Services goals and operations support the Graham Health System Mission, Vision, and Values; as well as the Strategic Plan. The director is accountable to ensure current best practices are utilized in the care planning of patients in the service. Ensures compliance with regulatory agency requirements including The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Utilizes effective communication and change management skills. Responsible for annual budgeting including capital expenditures, non-labor expenses, and labor expenses. Evaluates, counsels and disciplines staff members in a consistent manner following the Graham Health System policies and procedures.
Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required, Masters Degree preferred (MHA, MSN, or MBA). Must have 5 years peri-operative experience and a minimum of 2 years management experience. Must have a current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse License, CNOR preferred. Current CPR Certification.
