The Exercise Specialist (ES) is bachelor’s prepared in exercise science and is responsible, in conjunction with the Assistant Director, for developing and overseeing safe and effective exercise programs (and overall care) for all populations seen within Graham Cardiopulmonary Rehab, the hospital stress lab, and the Wellness department. The ES educates program participants in means of safe and effective home and rehab exercise and activities, and is well versed in all cardiopulmonary disease risk factors. The ES communicates participant exercise responses to the physician by program summary reports and telephone calls. The ES collects outcome data measurements and aids the Assistant Director with program development, and operational changes/performance improvement. Reports to the Assistant Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehab.

Education and Certifications preferred bachelor’s degree in Exercise Specialist.  Six months of previous work experience with EKG interpretation preferred. OR successfully completed course in EKG interpretation and has the ability to apply those skills within 6 months of hire.  ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification desirable.  BLS certification through AHA required.  Current ACLS Certification (or willing to obtain within 3 months)
