The Hyperbaric Oxygen Safety Coordinator, under the direction of the Center Manager (Program Director and/or Clinical Nurse Manager) of the Hyperbaric Medicine Department, administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Physician. Performs duties under the supervision of the Program Director, Clinical Coordinator (Nurse Manager), and/or Physician in Charge as appropriate for the facility. Responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. Responsible for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient.
In addition to being a chamber operator, the Hyperbaric Oxygen Safety Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. The Hyperbaric Oxygen Safety Coordinator will also be the point person for the assessment of materials that are appropriate for use in and around hyperbaric chambers.
Education and certification requirements for this position are High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development).
Must be current healthcare professional. With a certification or license as applicable in the state of practice to maintain throughout the duration of employment in this role.
