The Laboratory Administrative Director (Director) will provide laboratory leadership and direction across Graham Health System. The director will be directly responsible for all operations, goals, policies, procedures, and strategies for Graham Health System laboratory services. The director will also provide direction and leadership to the laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and patients using GHS laboratory services. Ensures laboratory staff provide the maximum level of service to patients and hospital staff to ensure that patients’ laboratory needs are effectively met. This position is responsible for professional/clinical services, lab products, and ensuring the laboratory’s accreditation standards are continually achieved. Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective laboratory services. This position requires a great deal of organizational skill, innovation, independence, creativity, and flexibility for decision making, problem-solving as well as a thorough understanding of laboratory coding and reimbursement. The Administrative Director of Laboratory Services is accountable to the Laboratory Medical Director and reports to the Vice President of Ancillary Services of Graham Health System.
Registration by ASCP or other accrediting body preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent preferred5 years’ laboratory experience in a functional clinical laboratory.3 years’ supervisory experience preferred
