The Patient Cook prepares food items for patients according to standardized recipes in designated quantities. Reviews menu and production sheets to determine types and quantities of foods to prepare. Tastes food being cooked and adds ingredients to improve flavor or texture as needed. Adjusts heat control and timers on ovens, steamers, grills as needed. Discusses changes to recipes with Chef or Director.
The Patient cook is under the direct supervision of the Director of Food and Nutrition.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred/ Sufficient previous experience in large scale food preparation preferred.
