The Patient Financial Advocate (PFA) is responsible to coordinate, problem solve, and respond to patient billing concerns by facilitating open dialogue with patients, family members, and other authorized individuals involved in the patients account(s). The PFA helps patients to enroll in exchange plans and ensures patients proactively receive financial assistance, charity care, or other means of external assistance necessary to ensure needed healthcare is received. The PFA monitors patient payment agreements and internal collection accounts and is responsible to work with external collection agencies as determined by GHS. The Patient Financial Advocates utilize both proactive and reactive strategies to ensure patient financial services are of the highest quality. The PFA reports to the Director of Business Services.

High school diploma preferred. Previous experience in medical billing practices, insurance, and customer service is required and at least two years’ experience in account collections or working in a physician office
