The registered professional nurse is responsible for providing care, treatment, and education through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The registered professional nurse takes into account patient acuity levels assigned via triage, ages, disabilities, and stages or development in the performance of his/her responsibilities and assesses patients for signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect and refers to appropriate personnel and/or community agencies. Nursing care is provided in collaboration with the Medical Staff and in accordance with the objectives and policies of Graham Hospital. The registered professional nurse assumes resource responsibilities as assigned and functions as a member of a self-directed work team, thus assign and follows up on the work of other patient care team members and provide support to team members by assisting in patient care duties and clerical functions as needed. The registered professional nurse reports to the Director of the Emergency Department.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
Complete hospital and departmental orientation
Minimum Experience
One year of medical/surgical experience or emergency or critical care experience preferred
Req. Certification/Registration
Current Illinois Licensure
Maintain 20 hours of continuing education every two years to maintain current registered nurse licensure.
BLS certification through AHA required.
ACLS or willingness to obtain within one year
TNCC/TNS or willingness to obtain within two years
PALS, APLS and/or ENPC or willingness to obtain within one year
